My husband and I are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters and we became first time grandparents in 2015! A doula supported us with the birth of our second child. Our doula’s guidance and presence were essential during that birth and ultimately inspired me to become a doula.
I graduated from the University of New Mexico and have a background in Infant and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education. I have worked as a teacher in a child care setting for more than fifteen years here in Albuquerque, including nine years as the Infant/Toddler teacher at A Child’s Garden Preschool. I am certified as both a birth and postpartum doula through DONA (Doulas of North America) International. Additionally, I am certified to teach infant massage to parents and completed a two year post graduate training in Infant and Family Health through the Las Cumbres Early Childhood Training Institute in Santa Fe in 2010.
The years I have spent working with infants and their families, as a teacher and a doula, and the joys and challenges of raising my own children, have given me the expertise which I bring to my doula work. My goal is to provide individualized, caring support and assist families in having a positive pregnancy, birth and post-birth experience.
